About
Elemental Music offers after-school music ensembles and extracurricular music classes that include classical guitar, youth orchestra, concert band, chamber music, music composition, jazz band, youth choir, and drop-in Drum Circle classes. The program includes an afterschool youth orchestra designed specifically for elementary school students, as well as private lesson programs for qualified students. Elemental Music has grown from a single after-school orchestra into programs for strings, band, choir, guitar, full orchestra, chamber music, and private lessons.

Hudson Pacific Properties and Sander Architects are listed as 2025/2026 Season Sponsors. The organization has developed a Cultural Equity and Inclusion Statement and Policy and a Racial Equity Statement, and it states a belief in welcoming every child from every background and at all levels, as well as breaking down barriers and systems that prevent students of all races and backgrounds from developing and nurturing musical skill and talent. Historically, final concerts have included a celebratory showcase with a backyard BBQ and pool party hosted by Maestro Foundation founder Aaron Mendelsohn.
Elemental Music’s leadership team includes Peter Park, identified as an orchestra teacher and founder of the Elemental Strings concept; Dr. Jo, Elemental Music’s current Executive & Artistic Director; Kirsten Bersch, described as one of the original Elemental Strings teachers; and Emily Call, Marketing & Communications Director.
