SOL-LA Music Academy offers baby and toddler music classes with live music, games, singing, musical play, creative movement, and group singing. Children have hands-on interactions with a variety of instruments, including strings, wind, percussion, xylophones, and keyboards, and can take part in group classes in instrumental music, voice, music theory, ensemble classes, chamber music, workshops, and master classes with guest artists. The program also offers outreach programs and school partnership programs.

• Schedule: Early childhood and starter classes meet in 45-minute Saturday sessions, with most group classes running in 14-week semesters and Discover Music! for ages 0–12 months offered in two 6-week sessions.
• Price: Most Early Childhood group classes are $450 per 14-week semester; Discover Music! is $200 per 6-week session or $350 for both sessions, with a $75 annual registration fee and available bundle discounts.
SOL-LA Music Academy is a non-profit performing arts school that began in 2007 and provides comprehensive music and performing arts education, including individual lessons, group classes, outreach programs, school partnership programs, scholarship programs, special-needs programs, early-childhood programs, and teacher-training programs. Its mission is to provide high quality music and performing arts instruction in a supportive, engaging environment to students from all backgrounds and economic circumstances, with an emphasis on an integrated, team-based approach to teaching and learning and a belief that all musical genres are mutually enriching and worthy of exploration. SOL-LA’s teaching artists are professional musicians and leaders in pedagogy who are described as deeply committed to music education as a fundamental right, and named teaching artists include Jan Kravets, Elizabeth Dickenson, and Jessi Gravelle.
Early Childhood classes for ages 0–8 are described as providing a safe, exploratory and entertaining learning environment for families to bond through music, with each session featuring live music and hands-on interactions with both acoustic and electric instruments, and children learning musical terms such as “forte,” “allegro,” and “glissando.” The Children’s Choir for ages 5–8 engages young musicians in group singing while building a foundation for healthy vocal technique, and Piano Partners for ages 4.5–6 highly recommends home access to a piano or keyboard. Discover Music!, Explore Music!, Make Music!, Ready, Set, Music!, and Piano Partners require parent or guardian participation or presence, and parent or guardian involvement is encouraged for String Starters.
