Kids Outdoor Sports Camp (KOSC)

Kids Outdoor Sports Camp (KOSC) offers Beginner Camp, Advanced Camp, Advanced Camp II, Elite Camp I, Elite Camp II, Beginner/Advanced Combo Camp, and Elite I & Elite II Combo Camp. Beginner Camp includes the Hunter Education course and certification test, and Advanced Camp includes more time on the ranges and work on hunting and field skills. In combo camps, skill levels are separated during rotations, while dining and other activities are done together.

Programs

• Beginner Camp — 9-17 · Sunday afternoon to Thursday afternoon; typically overnight; 5 days/4 nights · Includes the Hunter Education course and certification test.
• Advanced Camp — 9-17 · Sunday afternoon to Friday afternoon; typically overnight; 6 days/5 nights · Advanced camp with more time on the ranges and developing hunting and field skills.
• Advanced Camp II — 9-17 · 3rd level of the Outdoor Conservation Explorer Program.
• Elite Camp I — 14+ · Sunday afternoon to Friday afternoon; typically overnight; 6 days/5 nights · Elite camp; ages 14+ unless otherwise determined by KOSC staff.
• Elite Camp II — 14+ · 5th level of the Outdoor Conservation Explorer program; campers must qualify and be recommended to participate.
• Beginner/Advanced Combo Camp — 9-17 · Combo camp; skill levels are separated during rotations, but dining and other activities are done together.
• Elite I & Elite II Combo Camp — 14+ · Combo camp; skill levels are separated during rotations, but dining and other activities are done together.

About the provider

KOSC was founded in 1998. Its mission is to build the next generation of outdoor and conservation leaders to support California hunting, angling, archery, and outdoor sports. The program says it hosts over 200 campers each summer and has trained thousands of kids in California.

Campers ages 9 to 17 are mentioned on the program page. Elite Camp: ages 14+ unless otherwise determined by KOSC staff; campers must have completed at least one previous season with KOSC; a readiness form is required to help determine eligibility. Elite II campers must qualify and be recommended based on previous camps with KOSC and letters of recommendation. Not all items or activities may be accessible at every camp because availability depends on guest and speaker schedules, staffing, equipment, and location opportunities.
