Encore Music & Performing Arts

Encore Music & Performing Arts offers private lessons and group classes in piano, voice and singing, ukulele, flute, clarinet, saxophone and other woodwinds, violin, viola, cello and other strings, guitar, bass, drums, acting, and music and dance. The program also offers Zumba adult fitness dance classes featuring Latin, pop, and international music, as well as Mini Crew music and dance activities for babies and toddlers ages 0 to 3 years old.

Encore Music & Performing Arts was founded by Rebecca Carr, a California Credentialed music teacher with multiple degrees in Music Education, piano, and voice, and years of education and teaching experience in both voice and piano. Music teachers at the program have teaching credentials, are described as warm and extremely friendly, and are dedicated to teaching students the style of music they want to learn. The program states that it is more than just a music school and describes itself as a community with a warm and welcoming atmosphere where both students and parents feel right at home, with a focus on making music education accessible to everyone, whether a student is an experienced player or a total beginner.

The program offers training for the Royal School of Music Exams (ABRSM), described as one of the oldest and most respected music exam programs in the world, with more than 600,000 students participating each year in over 93 countries, and students receive certificates with the seal of the Queen. Encore Music & Performing Arts uses online practice charts updated weekly by teachers, a Musical Ladder Quest and Character Badges awards system, a reward system that tracks progress and celebrates achievements, and formal recitals twice a year plus a rock concert in the summer. Students have many performance opportunities throughout the year, including at retirement homes, coffee shops, and community events, and the program notes that its teachers are very experienced with students with special needs and personalizing lessons for many different kinds of learners.

Classrooms are fully equipped and fully stocked with multiple instruments and electronic devices in every room, and students can begin learning before purchasing an instrument; if a student forgets an instrument or books, the school provides what is needed for the lesson. Families have access to comfortable waiting areas with books, toys, and activities for siblings, observation windows to see students in action with their teacher, and a camera system in every room so lessons can be observed on a monitor from the lobby, with the option to wait in the car. The program offers month-to-month lessons with no semester minimums, no large upfront payments, no complicated contracts, no annual material fees, and an annual registration fee that covers teacher background checks, security, instrument tunings, maintenance and repairs, and motivational trophies, prizes, and wristbands.
