Encore Music & Performing Arts offers piano, guitar, bass, ukulele, violin, viola, cello, drum, saxophone, clarinet, flute, and voice and singing lessons, as well as acting and Zumba. The program also offers adult fitness dance classes featuring Latin, Pop and International music, and Mini Crew music and dance fun for babies and toddlers. Encore Music & Performing Arts was founded by Rebecca Carr, an accomplished musician with multiple degrees in Music Education, piano, and voice, and a California teaching credential. The program’s music teachers have teaching credentials, warm personalities, and are described as extremely friendly and dedicated to teaching the style of music that students want to learn, and the teaching staff is highly skilled and very experienced with students with special needs. The program offers music and dance classes for ages 4 months to adult, including Mini Crew music and dance for babies and toddlers ages 0 to 3 years old in South Pasadena.
Encore Music & Performing Arts provides online practice charts updated weekly by teachers, a Musical Ladder Quest and Character Badges awards system, a reward system that tracks progress and celebrates achievements with regular performances, and weekly lesson reminders and communication. Students have many performance opportunities throughout the year, including formal recitals twice a year, a rock concert in the summer, and performances at retirement homes, coffee shops, and community events. The program offers training for the Royal School of Music Exams (ABRSM), one of the oldest and most respected music exam programs in the world.
Lessons at Encore Music & Performing Arts are offered on a month-to-month basis with no large upfront payments, no complicated contracts, no annual material fees, and no semester minimums, and lessons are first come, first serve. Lessons are available six days a week, with convenient scheduling and a system for makeup lessons. An annual registration fee covers teacher background checks, security, instrument tunings, maintenance and repairs, and motivational trophies, prizes and wristbands.
Encore Music & Performing Arts has a waiting area stocked with toys, books, coloring activities, and other books and activities to engage younger siblings, as well as comfortable waiting areas and observation windows. A camera system is installed in every room so families can observe lessons on monitors from the lobby. If students forget to bring their instrument or books to their lesson, the school provides instruments and materials on site.
