About
Huntington Education offers enrichment classes for 2nd–12th grade in math, English, physics, PSAT, and SAT, including AP Physics. The program also offers all levels of math from elementary math through Calculus, all levels of English, PSAT/SAT preparation, a specific SAT English and Writing prep curriculum, and English as a second language to adults. Classes are offered in person with interactive instruction, and an online option is available for an additional administrative fee.
• Ages: 7–18 years old
• Schedule: Summer Session 2026 runs June 8–July 24, with in-person interactive classes offered during that period.
Huntington Education has been helping students excel for over 35 years and is dedicated to academic enrichment. Enrichment classes are designed to aid remedial students who are struggling in school as well as top performers who are excelling in the classroom. The program offers maximal learning with minimal time spent in class and does not require students to attend every day, in contrast to many after-school programs. Math classes cultivate analytical thinking skills needed for successful problem solving and ensure students are equipped to handle math word problems. The English curriculum includes grammar, reading comprehension, vocabulary, writing structure and style, and teaches students to analyze what they read and express their thoughts eloquently. Students on average make gains of 270 points on the SAT I test, and on the SAT II Math Level II subject test, 43% of students score a perfect 800 and 80% score 750 or higher. All on-site visits are by appointment only, and new students are instructed to email or call regarding registration, which is handled digitally at least one day in advance with no same-day registrations.
Huntington Education’s leadership and teaching team includes Mr. Liu, one of the founders of Huntington Education, who has been developing young minds for over 30 years. Mrs. Liu (Ms. Hsu) has been helping students excel for over 30 years and has built her own comprehensive curriculum for elementary math through Calculus. Mrs. Barbarics (Ms. Liu) holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Science from Stanford University, worked as an information technology consultant, and has over 15 years of experience teaching AP Physics and all levels of math and English. Mr. Barbarics graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree in Electrical Engineering, worked as a technology and business process consultant, obtained his law degree, passed the California State Bar exam, practiced law, and is a credentialed high school teacher. Mrs. Aurand has been teaching English at all levels for over a decade, is a working screenwriter and playwright, and holds a BA from Azusa Pacific University in Cinema with a minor in English.
Huntington Education states that its mission is to equip students with the building blocks to succeed inside and outside the classroom and give them an edge in an increasingly competitive world. One student, Albert L. from Flintridge Preparatory School and the University of Pennsylvania, reports that after attending since 5th grade, his math abilities grew to the point that his STAR test scores in middle school were the maximum 600 every time, his ISEE scores were perfect 9s without missing a single question, and his SAT I and II scores were 800s across the board, and he attributes most of his success and interest in math to Huntington Education.
