Encore Music & Performing Arts was founded by a former classroom music teacher and performer and offers classes for all ages from 4 months to adult. The program was founded by Rebecca Carr, an accomplished musician with years of education and teaching experience in both voice and piano, who holds multiple degrees in Music Education, piano, voice, and a California teaching credential. Teachers at the program have teaching credentials, and the school offers training for the Royal School of Music Exams (ABRSM), as well as formal recitals twice a year and a rock concert in the summer.

The program includes online and in-person music classes, month-to-month lessons with no semester minimums, and lessons available six days a week, scheduled once a week. It uses online practice charts updated weekly and a Musical Ladder Quest & Character Badges awards system. Performance opportunities are available at retirement homes, coffee shops, and community events.

An annual registration fee covers teacher background checks, security, instrument tunings, maintenance and repairs, and motivational trophies, prizes and wristbands. Multiple instruments and electronic devices are available in every room so students can begin learning before purchasing an instrument, and instruments and books are available if students forget to bring their own. The facilities include fully equipped classrooms, a waiting area stocked with books, toys, and activities for siblings, and a camera system in every room that allows observation of lessons from the lobby.
