Pure Taekwondo was founded in 2004 and was officially opened to the public in Sunnyvale in 2012. It is described as Sunnyvale’s Premier Olympic Taekwondo Academy and Sunnyvale’s Premier Taekwondo Experience, and as Sunnyvale’s Premier Taekwondo Academy — elite training for kids, teens, and adults. The leadership team is headed by Grandmaster Carlo, a Kukkiwon-certified 7th Dan Black Belt, International Master, and Poom/Dan Examiner. Staff credentials include Kukkiwon certification, and students who achieve Black Belt earn official certification from Kukkiwon in South Korea, the global authority for Taekwondo rank certification. The program is backed by a 40-year legacy of traditional and competitive success and is described as offering world level prestige and technical expertise, forging excellence, and training within a legacy of 40+ years of martial arts excellence shaped by tradition and world champion instruction.
