About
Sunnyvale Little League offers Little League baseball that includes regular season play such as the 2026 Spring Little League Season and special events like the Opening Day ceremony at Serra Park in Sunnyvale. Players in the league may take part in postseason activities including the 2025 Future Stars Tournament, the 2025 Tournament of Champions, and the 2025 District 44 All Star Tournaments. The league also supports Intermediate Division All Stars games and Juniors All Stars games, along with field preparation tasks such as dragging and watering infields, maintaining mounds, filling low spots, and watering and dragging after practices and games.
• Schedule: Online registration for the 2026 Spring Little League Season is in wait list status.
Sunnyvale Little League states that it has always strived to offer a fun and inclusive environment for players, parents, volunteers, and guests. The league is a 100% volunteer run organization, and several board members are aging out of Little League with board positions opening up in June. Sponsors receive a banner on the majors field and logo placement on the Sunnyvale Little League website, and sponsorships help keep costs and entry fees down through sponsorship.
Sunnyvale Little League uses a Heat Index based approach to suspending league activity during periods of excessive heat, and umpires have discretion to halt a game if they deem the playing conditions unsafe, with their decision not negotiable. To help prevent heat related illness, managers are instructed to use their discretion and err on the side of caution. On the fields, there are white and blue tick marks painted on baseline fenceboards to help locate bases (white) and water holes (blue).
For field preparation, guidance includes watering the infield dirt before and after dragging, not dragging on the grass at De Anza and Serra, staying about 6 inches away from the grass, alternating dragging patterns, watering the mound to set the dirt, adding loose dirt to fill holes, then raking and watering, and watering and dragging after using the field for practices and games. All players must use USA Baseball approved bats in order to participate in the league, and all bats manufactured last year are ineligible for use in any Little League activity as of January 1, 2018. Sunnyvale Intermediates (Intermediate Division All Stars) captured the California Section 5 title, the Juniors All Stars won the District 44 Championship and advanced to the Section 5 Tournament, and the Juniors Padres completed a perfect run in the California District 44 Tournament of Champions.
