Camp LBC

Camp LBC includes camp songs, exploration with their buddies, and adventures in the real world. The program includes going to a theme park and practicing waiting their turn or waiting in line. Frequently targeted skills include safety skills such as how to seek help effectively and crossing the street, appropriate language and communication with unfamiliar peers and adults, appropriate language and communication with familiar peers or buddies and adults, waiting in line or waiting their turn, and self-help skills like ordering their own food. Camp LBC offers children the opportunity to learn, explore, and engage in several community settings, with a focus on working in the natural environment to meet the true needs of the child. The program allows children to organically practice exploring different environments and responding appropriately in various environments, and it is run with the belief that every child should have memorable summer camp experiences filled with camp songs, exploration with their buddies, and adventures in the real world. Camp LBC has been featured in an article from Summer Camp Hub and is described as one of the pioneers of behavioral camp in California.

The mission of Camp LBC, as part of the Learning and Behavioral Center, is: “Driven by passion and dedication, we teach vital skills to empower learners to live fulfilling and independent lives, while enriching their family dynamics and shared experiences.” Parents have described related LBC services by saying, “We like to call them the ‘Disneyland’ of ABA therapy,” and, “I love the fact that my kids love coming here.
