Knauer Music School offers music lessons in instruments such as piano, voice, guitar, bass, violin, cello, saxophone, trumpet, flute, drums, ukulele, viola, and clarinet, as well as general singing and music lessons. The program also offers group piano lessons.

Knauer Music School offers lessons in students’ homes, in its studios, or online. The Tarzana studio has a waiting room with magazines, creative toys, wi-fi, and bottled water service, and all studios have full glass doors so parents can watch or sit in on lessons. Students take lessons on high quality acoustic pianos, and the school also offers instrument sales and rentals, including pianos and digital pianos with a rent-to-own program, and can help families rent or purchase most other instruments and obtain important music books.
The teaching staff includes classically trained teachers with doctorate degrees and accomplished Jazz and Hip-Hop teachers, and all instructors have university training or professional performance experience both nationally and internationally, with several teachers who are recording artists. Teachers include members of the Royal Conservatory, the Music Teachers Association of California, the National Guild of Piano Teachers, and the California Association of Professional Music Teachers. The leadership team includes owners Robbie Knauer and Ben Knauer, School Director Syd, Executive Director Rosana, and Assistant Director Vanessa. For twenty consecutive years, Robbie Knauer was involved in their children’s musical education.
Knauer Music School states a mission to provide a fulfilling and inspiring experience to all students by giving meaningful support to the many different musical interests and goals each one has. The school offers MTAC Certificate of Merit and Royal Conservatory curriculum, as well as opportunities to participate in the Certificate of Merit Program and the National Guild of Piano Teachers Auditions. The program offers piano curriculum and annual piano festivals specifically designed to measure and motivate piano students, and holds recitals two times a year, including one annual recital each June. According to the school, students from Knauer Music School have gone on to attend top music schools such as Berklee College of Music.
