Cal South PRO+ ODP

Cal South PRO+ ODP brings together training and development through activities such as Elite Player Training, Young Olympians, overnight camps, day camps, and specialty camps. The program structure includes online orientations, in-person check-in times, and multiple on-field training sessions labeled Session #1 and Session #2. Players train, play, and compete, including against some of the best players in the country, and can be identified in their natural game-playing environment by professional scouts.

• Ages: 11–16 years old
• Schedule: Age-group orientations held via Zoom in the evenings, followed by two-day in-person events with morning check-in and two field sessions per day for girls and boys by birth year
• Price: No fees for the opportunity to be identified and zero to minimal cost to participate.

For the 2011 age group, an orientation is scheduled on April 27, 2026 at 7:00 PM on Zoom for both girls and boys, followed by two days of sessions on May 2 and May 3, with separate check-in and two field sessions each day for girls and boys. For the 2010 age group, an orientation is scheduled on May 4 at 7:00 PM on Zoom for both girls and boys, followed by two days of sessions on May 9 and May 10, again with separate check-in and two field sessions each day for girls and boys. Overnight camps run 3–4 days, while day camps are set up as local training, and Young Olympians, Elite Player Training, and Cal South Training Centers are included as part of the broader PRO+ ODP structure.

Cal South PRO+ ODP is a U.S. Soccer Approved Program, and Cal South teams have earned 82 US Youth Soccer Far West ODP Regional Titles and 38 US Youth Soccer ODP National Championships. U.S. Soccer National Team staff and scouts work onsite at PRO+ camps and events, and players can be identified for U.S. Soccer National Teams and play against U.S. Soccer Youth National Teams. Cal South has developed a high-level scouting system over the past twelve years, and PRO+ has been part of more than 20 years of developing players, with more than 7,000 players involved every year.

PRO+ combines all of Cal South’s current and future elite player development initiatives under one integrated structure, with four stated areas of emphasis: Identification, Development, Inclusion, and Advancement. The program places more emphasis on younger age groups with larger player pools, focuses on maintaining a quality coaching staff, and integrates education around fitness, nutrition, and sports psychology. All PRO+ events, training, and camps are held in Southern California, with no out-of-state travel, and the program states an elimination of costs and travel to remove barriers and make participation more accessible and inclusive.

Cal South Training Centers (CSTC), created in conjunction with Coast Soccer League (CSL), are used to expand the PRO+ ODP player identification program to find the best quality players in CSL. Coaches and technical directors of CSL teams can recommend players for inclusion in the Training Center, and Cal South scouts CSL as well as State and National Cup events. Cal South accepts player recommendations from Affiliated Club Technical Directors, Club Directors of Coaching, Club Coaches, Regional Staff Coaches, National Staff Coaches, ODP Scouts, and opposing club coaches, but does not accept recommendations from private trainers or parents. Player recommendations from CSL teams are accepted from August to November and again from February to April, and players are also scouted in the winter and spring at the Cal South State and National Cup.

Cal South’s community involvement connected to this structure includes partnerships with Skyline Pitch and UASA to expand adaptive soccer access across Southern California, support for the Grow the Game Soccer Clinic Series across Los Angeles, and welcoming new 2026 affiliated clubs and leagues.
