About
Cal South PRO+ ODP brings players together to train, play and compete against the best players in the country through PRO+ ODP camps and Cal South Training Centers. The program runs a player identification program that includes coaching education courses and uses a high-level scouting system developed over the past twelve years. U.S. Soccer National Team staff and scouts work onsite at PRO+ camps and events.
• Ages: 11–15 years old
• Schedule: 2026 ODP Player Pool Schedule with Zoom meetings and multiple in-person sessions in March 2026 for 2015, 2014, 2013, and 2012 age groups, with a registration deadline of April 4.
• Price: No fees for the opportunity to be identified and zero to minimal cost to participate.
PRO+ is described as the next evolution of player identification and development in the United States and combines all of Cal South’s current and future elite player development initiatives under one integrated structure. Cal South PRO+ ODP is a U.S. Soccer Approved Program, and the California State Soccer Association – South (Cal South) is a 501c(3) California public benefit corporation. Cal South PRO+ ODP works in conjunction with Coast Soccer League to create age group-specific Cal South Training Centers and expand the PRO+ ODP player identification program to find players in Coast Soccer League. Cal South accepts player recommendations from Affiliated Club Technical Directors, Club Directors of Coaching, Club Coaches, Regional Staff Coaches, National Staff Coaches, ODP Scouts, and opposing club coaches, and does not accept recommendations from private trainers or parents.
The program uses a larger player pool in younger age groups, focuses on maintaining a quality coaching staff, and integrates education around fitness, nutrition, and sports psychology. Cal South is creating a more robust technology platform to identify and track players and has renewed a partnership with XbotGo to expand the use of AI camera technology in coaching education and ODP, with Cal South members receiving 20% off on the XbotGO AI Camera. Cal South partners with Toro Tents as its Official Tent & Event Structures Provider. All PRO+ events, training, and camps are held in Southern California with no out-of-state travel for PRO+ events, and the program states an elimination of costs and travel to remove barriers and make the program accessible and inclusive. Players in Cal South PRO+ ODP have the opportunity to be identified for U.S. Soccer National Teams and to play against U.S. Soccer Youth National Teams. Coaching education courses are offered for all levels.
