Naturalists at Large Outdoor Education Programs offers outdoor and environmental education experiences that include water-based activities, snow-based activities, rock climbing, challenge courses, hiking, backpacking, service learning, and environmental science. Knowledgeable Field Coordinators help craft customized educational trips that can include these activities.

Since 1985, Naturalists at Large has provided outdoor education programs for tens of thousands of students from over two hundred schools. The organization offers custom client-designed trips with flexible dates and locations, and states a commitment to safety and comfort in the outdoors, the wonder of nature, and the importance of outdoor and experiential education. It states that it aims to give students an understanding of the beauty and diversity of the planet, and is committed to teaching people of all ages the skills to be at ease in the outdoors and to come to a better understanding of Western ecosystems, including mountains, deserts, and seashores.
