GrowFit Day Camps was founded in 2010 by Russ Nuffer and began as a physical education company with a curriculum focused on social and emotional learning. The program states that it brings the magic of summer camp to life for children everywhere and emphasizes teamwork, encouragement, and exploration in sports and athletics. GrowFit describes its goals as encouraging children to explore the world around them, try new things, build confidence, and challenge themselves, and describes itself as an extension of families and part of their village.

GrowFit Day Camps operates at five Bay Area sites in Redwood City, San Ramon, San Jose, Walnut Creek, and Berkeley. In select locations, the program offers dedicated Art, Science, and LEGO camps, as well as Inventors Camp challenges and Engineering Adventures. Dedicated Soccer Camp is offered at the San Ramon site, and dedicated Science, Art, Inventors, and LEGO camps are offered at the San Jose, Walnut Creek, and Berkeley sites. At the San Jose camp inside The Plex, campers have access to indoor rock walls, black light skating, scooters, and a digital aquarium backdrop during lunch. At the Redwood City SportsHouse location, meals from Kicks Grill are provided at lunchtime.
