Spotlight Ballroom offers private lessons, group classes, and wedding dance instruction. The program includes Ballet and Pilates classes, ballroom social dances, and Club and Swing dance styles. It also features American Smooth and American Rhythm formation teams through its resident ballroom and Latin formation team, Spirit in Motion Dance Company.

Spirit in Motion Dance Company, the resident ballroom and Latin formation team at Spotlight Ballroom, was established in 2001 and is under the tutelage of director Gwen Burton. More than 30 amateur and professional dancers comprise Spirit in Motion Dance Company. Spirit in Motion has competed successfully at numerous venues throughout Northern California and performs at competitions such as the International Grand Ball, the San Francisco Open, and the San Francisco Autumn Classic. The company’s repertoire includes styles from American Smooth and Rhythm, Club, and Swing. Spotlight Ballroom offers a complimentary introductory private lesson, including a free half hour private lesson, and provides wedding dance choreography for couples regardless of dance level or experience. Saturday morning Ballet and Pilates classes are also part of the program’s offerings. The program states, “We’re here to make sure your first steps are filled with joy and confidence.”
