About
Summer Camps offers summer activities that include weekly themes such as messy science, the arts, sport tournaments, group games, water play, technology, hands-on STEM activities, creative projects, interactive learning experiences, arts and crafts, science, sports, and social recreation. Campers take weekly field trips that can include heading to the pool, taking in a new museum, seeing the latest kid-friendly blockbuster, or spending a day at the park. Older members can also take part in Keystone Program leadership development opportunities and Torch Club leadership skills development that include service to the Club and community, as well as activities focused on education, health and fitness, and social recreation.

Summer Camps is part of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Conejo Valley, which has been active in the Conejo Valley community since 2001 and notes 25 years of providing programs for young people. The organization states that its mission is to enhance the lives of young people and their families by providing a positive environment that cultivates academic success, healthy lifestyles, good character, and citizenship. The program lists that no child is ever turned away due to their inability to pay and that financial aid is available, with extended hours from 7 am to 6 pm, true half-day morning or afternoon options, and single-day drop-in camp options, as well as all-day club access for middle schoolers and weekly field trips for kids from 3rd to 8th grade. Summer Camps also notes that programs integrate STEM, literacy, arts, and character development, and that it is not affiliated with CVUSD or LVUSD, and reports 1,000+ service hours contributed to the community valued at over $36,000.
Testimonials from youth members describe the Club as a “second home,” mention using what they learned in group games to stay calm and include others at school, and highlight homework help through Power Hour that includes staff checking grades weekly or daily. Other youth testimonials describe staff motivating them to try new sports, feeling more confident trying new things, finding friends, and seeing their creative work recognized in the community. One Keystone member describes the Club as “a place for growth, community, and a fresh start,” and another member notes that the Club feels like a safe and welcoming place to build friendships and be themselves.
