Summer Camps offers weekly themes such as messy science, the arts, sport tournaments, group games, water play, technology, arts and crafts, science, and sports. The program includes themed weeks like Summer Games: Go for Gold! with sports, science, statistics, and journaling training logs; Adventures Around the Globe with geography, landmarks, cultural traditions, and real-world math tasks; Camp Carnival (Literacy Fest) with daily read-aloud themes, book characters, and writing contests; Forces of Nature with weather systems, climate patterns, and observing changes in the natural world; Inventors Workshop with famous inventors, patents, and invention proposals; Animal Kingdom with animal classification, habitat research, and nonfiction reading; and Cosmic Seas Expedition to investigate planets, marine life, science skills, and hands-on discovery. Campers also take weekly field trips that may include heading to the pool, visiting a museum, seeing a kid-friendly movie, or spending a day at the park, along with leadership development opportunities, service to the Club and community, and activities in education, health and fitness, and social recreation.

Since 2001, the organization behind Summer Camps has been a constant, stable presence in the Conejo Valley community, and since its establishment in 2003, it has continued to operate with support from families in the area. Its mission is to enhance the lives of young people and their families by providing a positive environment that cultivates academic success, healthy lifestyles, good character, and citizenship, and no child is ever turned away due to their inability to pay. The program also connects with youth leadership groups such as the Keystone Program for teens ages 14 to 17 and Torch Club for members ages 11 to 13, and several members become youth volunteers, with teen members volunteering in their communities at least once a year and kids participating in leadership programs that contribute to their clubs and communities.

One member has described the Club as “like my second home – it’s a home away from home.” Another member has said they use what they learned at the Club to stay calm when things get bad at school and to include others at recess, and another has expressed appreciation for the homework help that allows them to go home and relax with their homework already done.
