About

Bobcats Soccer Academy focuses on soccer, including scrimmages at the beginning and end of each session. The program runs during the 2 month hiatus between Spring and Fall soccer to give players time on the field during that break.

• Schedule: Sessions take place during the 2 month hiatus between Spring and Fall soccer

For the last 21 years, Director Pete Lepak has been coaching high school soccer in Windsor and South Windsor. What started 16 years ago as a small, one-week camp in Windsor with 30 players has grown into numerous weeks of camp that had over 200 players last year. The academy offers a girls’ week and a mini skills camp, and high school players help out at the camp.

Trainers at Bobcats Soccer Academy are high school coaches, premier coaches, and former top high school players from South Windsor and Windsor. Staff credentials include roles such as South Windsor Head Girls Coach, assistant varsity and JV boys coach at South Windsor High, South Windsor High goalkeeper coach, Connecticut Football Club head coach and goalkeeper coach for U14–U19, South Windsor Soccer Club curriculum director, and multiple high school and club coaching positions in several states. Coaching licenses listed for staff include a USSF C Coaching License, United Soccer Coaches Goalkeeper Level 1 License, and 4v4, 7v7, 9v9, and 11v11 soccer coach licenses.

Parent reviews describe staff as friendly, energetic, and engaging, and note that some players especially liked the scrimmages at the beginning and end of each session. Parents report that their children looked forward to attending, mention that coaches are passionate and want to help the girls succeed, and say that Pete Lepak connected with their children and made them feel comfortable at camp. Reviews also mention that staff paid attention to safety during the hottest week of the summer, that returning players felt comfortable even without friends attending, and that having high school players helping out gave middle school players a view of what high school soccer could be like. Several parents state that their daughters enjoyed both the girls’ week and the mini skills camp and that their children learned a lot of soccer skills.
