Karate - Child introduces children to karate in a traditional Okinawan based system called Goju Ryu, which is described as a hard and soft style. Classes include work on fitness and the fundamentals of the art, with options for rank advancements and competitions. Waivers are required for participation, and all levels of training experience are welcome.

Kenji Takeshima Sensei is a 2016 and 2002 World Karate Organization Gold medalist and a 1998 Bronze medalist, with over 35 years of training experience and 20 years of teaching and coaching experience. The program is connected with the Toldo Lancer Centre, whose stated mission is to enhance the student experience, promote campus spirit, and community pride, and to expand and enrich Building Campus, Building Community and Building Champions at UWindsor and throughout Windsor-Essex.
