About the provider

The CNIB Foundation was founded in 1918, and its mission statement says it is a non-profit organization driven to change what it is to be blind today. CNIB connects with individuals from all age groups and regions of Canada and provides programs and services that cater to their unique needs. CNIB supports community fundraising through partnerships with Globalfaces Direct and Public Outreach to fundraise safely for monthly donations across multiple provinces. CNIB operates the CNIB Mobile Hub, which visits communities to deliver in-person programming at no cost. CNIB programs are free and available to Canadians who are blind or partially sighted, as well as their families, friends and caregivers. The CNIB Contact Centre phone lines are open Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Eastern and are closed Thursday afternoons from 1:20 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Eastern for staff training.
