About
Adventure Camp Wash Park offers a one-week Adventure summer camp where campers take part in mountain biking, hiking, rock climbing, and paddling activities including canoeing, kayaking, and stand up paddleboarding. Campers use professional-caliber equipment for mountain biking, kayaking, and climbing, and can either bring their own bikes or borrow from the camp’s fleet, which accommodates campers of any size. The camp’s flat-water instruction program gives campers practice with paddling equipment and safety, including proper strokes and rescue techniques, before they move into deeper skill building.
• Ages: 7–12 years old
• Schedule: One-week sessions, Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–3:00 PM, with extended care available 8:00 AM–5:30 PM
• Price: One Week Price $740; Early Drop Off (starting at 8 AM) $35; After Care (3–5:30 PM) $105; Avid4 Merch (delivery at camp, prices vary, tax included)
During a typical week, campers stand up paddleboard on Monday, hike on Tuesday, kayak on Wednesday, bike on Thursday, and canoe on Friday. Parents and campers meet staff at the same location each day, and Avid4 Adventure provides transportation for campers to local recreation areas for each day’s adventure sport, returning to the meeting place for afternoon pick up.
Adventure Camp Wash Park is led by instructors who are all 18 or older, described as incredibly well-trained and professional, with serious safety and skills training and extensive outdoor expertise. The broader leadership team includes David Secunda, former president of the Outdoor Industry Association and a 25-year veteran of the outdoor education industry. Avid4 Adventure states that it will be hiring approximately 500 educators to provide authentic outdoor adventures across all of its camps.
The program’s mission states that Avid4 Adventure believes in the transformative power of the outdoors and that at Avid4 Adventure kids build confidence, make new friends, and master essential skills in activities like paddling, biking, rock climbing, and hiking. The organization describes its programs as evolving as campers grow from age 3 to 17, with 2nd–4th graders concentrating on getting comfortable with new activities and 5th–7th graders focusing more on teamwork, mentorship, and deepening technical competence. Campers are grouped by grade range, and first-time and returning Adventure campers build on their skills and confidence year after year.
Avid4 Adventure states that every day at camp is a new adventure, including mastering mountain biking, hiking a trail, and paddling a canoe, kayak, or stand up paddleboard, with every challenge calibrated to campers’ age and ability. The organization notes that it teaches campers solid skills, including the basics of adventure sports and how to use sound judgment and problem-solving in different aspects of their lives. Every activity starts with a discussion about the risks involved, how to prevent them, and how to respond if something goes wrong, and the camp states that it does everything in its power to keep kids safe while giving them knowledge and confidence to take calculated, well-communicated risks.
Adventure Camp Wash Park is backed by the Avid4 Adventure Guarantee, which promises an authentic outdoor adventure, incredibly well-trained and professional staff, and increased confidence for each child; if these promises are not met for a family, the next Avid4 Adventure camp is offered at no cost. Avid4 Adventure is a Certified B Corp committed to public transparency and accountability, runs summer camps accredited by the American Camp Association, and has been named among Colorado Parent’s Top 5 Sports Camps. The organization operates under a Special Use authorization from the National Forest Service and is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
Families have several discount options, including a Multi-Session/Sibling offer that allows mix-and-match registrations for $25 off per session after the first, a Referral Program where giving friends $50 off their first camp earns a $50 coupon for a future 2026 camp when they purchase, and a Service Discount of $65 off for qualifying professions. Avid4 Adventure notes that it recognizes itself as a premium camp and states that, to deliver its experience, it hires high-quality educators for its youth programs.
Parent testimonials describe children learning to ride a bike without training wheels during camp, becoming enthusiastic about stand up paddleboarding, kayaking, and biking, and being eager to show parents what they learned each day. Other parents report that their kids talk about camp weeks later, look forward to returning the next year, and are active every day while learning how to enjoy what Colorado has to offer.
