The program offers one-week Explorer summer camps for 5- and 6-year-olds entering Kindergarten or 1st Grade, and campers must be 5 by the start of camp. The camper to staff ratio is 5:1, and parents and campers meet staff at a consistent location daily before Avid4 Adventure transports campers to local recreation areas for the day’s adventure sport. Campers are strongly encouraged to bring their own bike for biking day, with training wheels removed before camp.

Instructors are all 18 and older with what the program describes as impeccable credentials and serious safety and skills training, and the organization states that it hires committed, experienced instructors and uses professional-caliber equipment. Avid4 Adventure’s mission statement says it believes in the transformative power of the outdoors and that kids at Avid4 Adventure build confidence, make new friends, and master essential skills in activities like paddling, biking, rock climbing, and hiking. The program states that it teaches campers solid skills, including how to use sound judgment and problem-solving in all aspects of their lives, and that programs evolve as campers grow from age 3 to 17.

Avid4 Adventure is a Certified B Corp, its summer camps are accredited by the American Camp Association, and it has been named among Colorado Parent’s Top 5 Sports Camps. The organization operates under a Special Use authorization from the National Forest Service and is an Equal Opportunity Employer. The leadership team includes Founder David Secunda, who is a former president of the Outdoor Industry Association and a 25-year veteran of the outdoor education industry.

The program offers several discounts, including a multi-session/sibling discount of $25 off per session after the first, a referral program where families can give friends $50 off their first camp and receive a $50 coupon for a future 2026 camp when the friend makes a purchase, and a service discount of $65 off for qualifying professions. Avid4 Adventure describes an Avid4 Adventure Guarantee that includes an authentic outdoor adventure, well-trained and professional staff, increased confidence, and a customer experience that exceeds expectations, and states that it does everything in its power to keep kids safe while allowing calculated, well-communicated risks.

Parent testimonials describe children learning new outdoor skills and wanting to return. One parent reports that their child learned to ride a bike without training wheels after attending camp and that stand up paddle boarding, kayaking, and biking became favorite activities. Another parent describes the staff as mature, responsible, and excited to share their passion with children, and calls it a well-run program where kids learn new outdoor skills. A third parent notes that their children were active every day, still talk about camp more than a month later, and are eager to go back.
