Instructors are all 18 and older, described as insatiable outdoors experts with serious safety and skills training and impeccable credentials. The leadership team includes founder David Secunda, who is a former president of the Outdoor Industry Association and a 25-year veteran of the outdoor education industry. The organization states that it believes in the transformative power of the outdoors and that at Avid4 Adventure kids build confidence, make new friends, and master essential skills in activities like paddling, biking, rock climbing, and hiking.

Girls Mountain Biking Camp – Wash Park is described as a girls-only environment where campers experience the thrill of learning mountain biking, with adventures carefully customized so campers progress as their comfort and skill level grow, and campers in this group range from 4th–7th grade. The camp is backed by the Avid4 Adventure Guarantee, which states that if the camp does not meet its promises for a child or parent, the next Avid4 Adventure camp is free. Avid4 Adventure is a premium camp that provides transportation to and from recreation areas and access to top-of-the-line gear specifically sized for kids, and notes that its programs evolve as campers grow from age 3 to 17. The organization describes its staff as top tier, incredibly well-trained, and professional, and states that it does everything in its power to keep kids safe while giving them the knowledge and confidence to take calculated, well-communicated risks.

Avid4 Adventure is a Certified B Corp, its summer camps are accredited by the American Camp Association, and it has been named among Colorado Parent’s Top 5 Sports Camps. It operates under a Special Use authorization from the National Forest Service. The program strongly encourages campers to use their own tuned bikes that fit well and are appropriate for dirt trails, with hand brakes and wider tires, and offers bike rental for those who need one. To register, campers must be able to bike confidently without training wheels on a dirt surface, and if a camper does not meet this minimum skill requirement, the organization reserves the right to move the camper to a different program if space is available or remove the camper from the group and offer a credit.

One parent testimonial states that this was their daughter’s favorite camp and that she went from biking with training wheels to riding without them after camp, with stand up paddle board, kayaking, and biking becoming her favorite activities. Another parent notes that their child was eager to show them everything learned each day and describes Avid’s staff as mature, responsible, and excited to share their passion, calling it a well-run program where kids learn new outdoor skills. A third parent reports that their kids had a great time, were active every day, and learned how to enjoy what Colorado has to offer, and that the kids still talked about camp over a month later and wanted to return the next year.
