Instructors for the camps are described as vetted. The organization’s mission is to enrich and serve its mountain community by promoting and cultivating the arts through quality educational programming, exhibitions, and events, and it is described as a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization.

Campers attend from Evergreen, Conifer, Morrison, Golden, and the Denver metro area. Center for the Arts Evergreen hosts at least 10 exhibitions annually, offers visual arts and crafts classes for all ages, creative writing courses, master workshops, children’s summer camps, and teen mural and mentorship programs, and produces three free or low-cost arts festivals each year. It also presents both a gallery and an outdoor concert series, provides rental space for community businesses and nonprofits, and features a curated artisanal gift shop that showcases and supports local artists. Center for the Arts Evergreen states that it honors and acknowledges that it resides on the traditional and unceded territories of the Ute and Cheyenne Tribes and other Indigenous Peoples and recognizes the 48 contemporary Indigenous Tribes and Nations who have historically called Colorado home.
