About

Summer Art Camps at Center for the Arts Evergreen offers half-day summer camps where kids take part in activities such as clay sculpting, drawing techniques, pop art, mural painting, and exploring art of different cultures and art of the masters. Several camps include outdoor components like hikes, plein air painting, photography, and eco-art projects. The program includes themed options such as ceramics camps, Lunch Studio, Jungle Explorers, The Kindness Project – Teen Mural Workshop, POP! Art & Comics Studio, Re-Create!, and Magical Clay.

• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Schedule: Half-day (3-hour) camps offered June 1 through August 14, with sessions generally running 9 am–12 pm or 1–4 pm; ceramics camps meet Tuesday/Thursday over 2 consecutive weeks (4 half-days total), and a supervised Lunch Studio is available from 12–1 pm
• Price: $235 per camp; supervised Lunch Studio is $25 per week; no fee to register

All campers are asked to bring a water bottle and a snack each day, and it is advised that sunscreen is applied before coming to camp; all supplies are included. Ceramics camp fees cover materials, supplies, additional tech hours, kiln firings, and maintenance of the ceramics studio. Instructors for the camps are described as vetted.

Center for the Arts Evergreen was founded in 1975 and completed a $2.8M expansion in June 2024 that doubled its space and added a state-of-the-art ceramics studio, private artist studios, and an Artist-in-Residence program. The organization is a nonprofit 501(c)3 with a mission to enrich and serve its mountain community by promoting and cultivating the arts through quality educational programming, exhibitions, and events. It hosts at least 10 exhibitions annually and offers visual arts and crafts classes for all ages, creative writing courses, master workshops, children’s summer camps, and teen mural and mentorship programs, and it produces three free or low-cost arts festivals each year. CAE Family Memberships save 10% on all camps and classes, and the Center also features a curated artisanal gift shop that showcases and supports local artists.

Campers attend from Evergreen, Conifer, Morrison, Golden, and the Denver metro area. Center for the Arts Evergreen states that its outreach initiatives engage underserved and socially isolated populations, and it honors and acknowledges that it resides on the traditional and unceded territories of the Ute and Cheyenne Tribes and other Indigenous Peoples, recognizing 48 contemporary Indigenous Tribes and Nations who have historically called Colorado home.
