YMCA Summer Camps include day camp and overnight camp options with activities such as climbing, horseback riding, hiking, biking and lake adventures. Campers take part in art, archery, obstacle courses, campfires, songs, chants, dance parties, sports and games. The program also offers swim lessons, basketball, soccer, volleyball, flag football, small group training, yoga and walking.
YMCA Summer Camps are part of the YMCA of Northern Colorado, a nonprofit organization that focuses on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The YMCA of Northern Colorado is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit social services organization with core values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility and inclusion. YMCAs in Northern Colorado have served local communities for a century, and the YMCA has been listening and responding to communities’ most critical needs for more than 170 years. Tens of thousands of youth, families and adults from many backgrounds are served annually, and one in three members and program participants receive financial assistance to access YMCA programs.
Kinder Camp is identified as a camp for younger children, and CCAP is accepted for this option. Sportopia Camp offers a mix of sports, games and activities that keep children moving, learning and connecting with teammates. YMCA Camp Tumbleson Lake day camps focus on exploration, nature education and outdoor recreation. Rocky Mountain Sunscreen, a broad-spectrum, water-resistant sunscreen, is provided for all campers and applied regularly throughout the day.
Once a child is registered, families receive login information for CampDoc to provide emergency and medical information, medication information and waivers, and the CampDoc profile must be completed two weeks before the child attends camp. CampDoc is used for emergency medical information, medication information and waivers, and some medication administration requires additional time to work with the nurse and train staff.
