• Ages: 7–12 years old
• Schedule: One-week sessions, Monday–Friday, 9 AM–3 PM, totaling 30 camp hours; extended care available 8 AM–5:30 PM
• Price: One week $740; Early Drop Off (starting at 8 AM) $35; After Care (3–5:30 PM) $105; Avid4 merch available with prices varying (tax included)
Instructors are all 18 or older, described as insatiable outdoors experts with serious safety and skills training, and Avid4 Adventure states that instructors are the number one point of positive feedback from parents. The leadership team includes founder David Secunda, a former president of the Outdoor Industry Association and a 25-year veteran of the outdoor education industry. The organization states that it hires the highest quality educators, is committed to paying them a fair wage, and that every activity starts with a discussion about risks, how to prevent them, and how to respond if something goes wrong.
Avid4 Adventure describes its mission as believing in the transformative power of the outdoors, with kids building confidence, making new friends, and mastering skills in paddling, biking, rock climbing, and hiking. The program groups campers by grade range, with 2nd–4th graders concentrating on getting comfortable with new activities and 5th–7th graders focusing on teamwork, mentorship, and deepening technical competence. Campers learn about flora and fauna, Leave No Trace principles, and explore connections with fellow campers through teambuilding activities.
The camp provides transportation to and from recreation areas and uses professional-caliber, top-of-the-line gear specifically sized for kids, including a bike fleet that accommodates campers of any size, with the option for campers to bring their own bikes. Avid4 Adventure states that it organizes big adventures in beautiful recreation areas, transports campers to authentic local recreation areas they can return to, and that campers develop know-how and lasting self-assuredness, sound judgment, and problem-solving skills, coming away filled with confidence and launched into a lifetime of outdoor adventure. The organization notes that its programs evolve as campers grow from age 3 to 17, offering new experiences and fresh challenges from Pre-K through a first summer job, and that it believes in empowering kids of all ages from PreK–12.
Avid4 Adventure operates under a Special Use authorization from the National Forest Service, is a Certified B Corp, is accredited by the American Camp Association, and has been named among Colorado Parent’s Top 5 Sports Camps. The camp is backed by the Avid4 Adventure Guarantee, which promises an authentic outdoor adventure, well-trained professional staff, and increased confidence; if these promises are not met, the next Avid4 Adventure camp is free (“on us”). The organization states that it runs top-notch, highly acclaimed summer camps, does everything in its power to keep kids safe but does not “pack them up in bubble wrap,” and aims to give kids knowledge and confidence to take calculated, well-communicated risks so they become more thoughtful, responsible risk takers and problem solvers.
Discounts and incentives include a Multi-Session/Sibling discount of $25 off per session after the first when mixing and matching sessions, a Referral Program where families can give friends $50 off their first camp and receive a $50 coupon for a future 2026 camp after purchase, and a Service Discount of $65 off for qualifying professions. Avid4 Adventure states that multiple sessions result in greater skill development, increased self-confidence, higher levels of risk assessment and environmental awareness, and improved ability to connect socially and make new friends.
Parent testimonials describe this as a favorite camp where a child progressed from biking with training wheels to riding without them, and where stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, and biking became favorite activities. Other parents report that their children were eager to share what they learned each day, describe staff as mature, responsible, and excited to share their passion, and note that their kids were active every day, learning how to enjoy what Colorado has to offer and looking forward to returning the next year.
