Adventure Camp – Highlands Ranch includes activities such as mountain biking, hiking, and teambuilding activities. Campers take part in flat-water paddling using canoes, kayaks, and stand-up paddleboards (SUP), with instruction that gives them practice and confidence with paddling equipment and safety. Avid4 Adventure provides transportation for campers to recreation areas for each adventure sport and uses professional-caliber, top-of-the-line gear specifically sized for kids, with the option for campers to bring their own bikes or borrow from the camp’s fleet.

A sample weekly activity schedule includes stand-up paddleboarding on Monday, hiking on Tuesday, kayaking on Wednesday, biking on Thursday, and canoeing on Friday. Parents and campers meet staff at a consistent location daily, and groups return there at the end of the day for afternoon pick up.

Adventure Camp – Highlands Ranch is part of Avid4 Adventure, which states that it believes in the transformative power of the outdoors and that kids at Avid4 Adventure build confidence, make new friends, and master essential skills in activities like paddling, biking, rock climbing, and hiking. The program groups campers by grade range so that first-time and returning Adventure campers can build on their skills and confidence year after year, with 2nd–4th graders concentrating on getting comfortable with new activities and 5th–7th graders focusing more on teamwork, mentorship, and deepening technical competence. Avid4 Adventure describes itself as the home of multi-sport adventure, with programs that evolve as campers grow from age 3 to 17, and it organizes adventures in authentic local recreation areas that campers can continue to explore.

The camp is led by instructors who are all 18 and older, with serious safety and skills training, and Avid4 Adventure reports that it recruits, hires, and trains high-class outdoor educators and will be hiring approximately 500 educators across all of its camps. The organization states that Avid4 Instructors are the number one point of positive feedback from parents of campers, that it works hard to keep kids safe and starts every activity with a discussion about risks, prevention, and response, and that it does everything in its power to keep kids safe while giving them knowledge and confidence to take calculated, well-communicated risks. Campers also learn about flora and fauna and Leave No Trace principles and explore their connections with fellow campers through teambuilding activities.

The organization operates under a Special Use authorization from the National Forest Service.
