About
Rock Climbing Summer Camp – Highlands Ranch focuses on climbing skills including knot tying, belaying, rappelling, and bouldering practice. Campers practice climbing safety and ethics, climbing commands, proper spotting, hazard identification, and footwork and body positioning techniques. They also work with equipment setup, traditional gear placement, identifying natural anchors, and practicing knots at local crags, using carabiners, stoppers, camalots, and belay devices.

• Schedule: One-week sessions, Monday–Friday
• Price: One Week Price $740; Early Drop Off - Starting at 8 AM $35; After Care - Pick up 3–5:30 PM $105
Campers learn climbing on some of the most iconic formations in the area and are grouped by grade range as 2nd–4th graders or 5th–7th graders. Transportation is provided to and from recreation areas, and campers use top-of-the-line gear specifically sized for kids. This camp is backed by the Avid4 Adventure Guarantee, which includes a promise of an authentic outdoor adventure, incredibly well-trained and professional staff, and increased confidence, and if Avid4 Adventure does not meet these promises, the next Avid4 Adventure camp is free.
Instructors are described as insatiable outdoors experts who love adventuring almost as much as they love working with kids, are all 18 and older, and have serious safety and skills training. The leadership team is headed by David Secunda, former president of the Outdoor Industry Association and a 25-year veteran of the outdoor education industry. Avid4 Adventure states that it believes in the transformative power of the outdoors and that at Avid4 Adventure kids build confidence, make new friends, and master essential skills in activities like paddling, biking, rock climbing, and hiking. Avid4 Adventure operates under a Special Use authorization from the National Forest Service, is a Certified B Corp committed to public transparency and accountability, is accredited by the American Camp Association, and has been named among Colorado Parent’s Top 5 Sports Camps.
Avid4 Adventure is described as the home of multi-sport adventure, with programs that evolve as campers grow from age 3 to 17, and its summer camps are accredited by the American Camp Association and named among Colorado Parent’s Top 5 Sports Camps. Parent testimonials from 2023 report that a camper learned to ride a bike without training wheels and that stand up paddleboard, kayaking, and biking became her favorite activities, that staff are mature, responsible, and excited to share their passion with children, and that campers were active every day and learning how to enjoy what Colorado has to offer.
