Campers learn climbing safety and ethics, climbing commands, proper spotting, and hazard identification. Rock Climbing Summer Camps teach campers climbing on some of the most iconic formations in the area, using top-of-the-line gear specifically sized for kids and professional-caliber equipment.

Avid4 Adventure states that there are no prerequisite skills or experience needed for this rock climbing camp, but campers should have a desire to climb and learn more about the sport. The program is backed by the Avid4 Adventure Guarantee, which promises an authentic outdoor adventure, incredibly well-trained and professional staff, and increased confidence, and if these promises are not met, the next Avid4 Adventure camp is free. Every activity starts with a discussion about the risks involved, how to prevent them, and how to respond if something goes wrong, and Avid4 Adventure notes that they do everything in their power to keep kids safe but do not “pack them up in bubble wrap.”

Avid4 Instructors are all 18 and older with serious safety and skills training and are described as the number one point of positive feedback from parents of campers. The leadership team includes Founder David Secunda, who is a former president of the Outdoor Industry Association and a 25-year veteran of the outdoor education industry. Avid4 Adventure states that it believes in the transformative power of the outdoors, in empowering kids of all ages from PreK–12, and in being 100% committed to paying educators a fair wage.

Avid4 Adventure operates under a Special Use authorization from the National Forest Service. The organization is a Certified B Corp, is accredited by the American Camp Association, and has been named among Colorado Parent’s Top 5 Sports Camps. Avid4 Adventure also runs summer day camps, overnight camps, school programs, and events, and organizes big adventures in beautiful recreation areas that campers can keep coming back to explore while learning solid skills, including sound judgment and problem-solving.

Parent testimonials describe Avid4 Adventure camps as a “FAVORITE camp,” “a really well run program,” and a place where kids “had THE BEST time” and “can’t wait to go back next year,” with specific praise for mature, responsible staff who are excited to share their passion with kids and for campers being active every day and learning new outdoor skills.
