Washington Capital United offers a Development Academy, Competitive Travel Teams, an Advanced Training Performance Program, Summer Camp, a Winter Futsal Training Program, and additional camps and clinics. The program also includes soccer contests and a raffle as part of its activities.

Washington Capital United is a nonprofit soccer organization. Its mission is to foster physical, mental, and emotional growth in youth through high-quality coaching and a passion for the game, with a focus on building skilled athletes, strong teams, and confident individuals both on and off the field. The Development Academy is offered for ages 4–8, and Competitive Travel Teams are offered for ages 8–17. The Development Academy is described as the complete introduction to the game with maximum development in a competitive and fun environment. The Premier Academy program offers high-quality training and meaningful competition to prepare athletes for the next level. The club has run a coaching education course with German Football Federation instructor Maik Drzensla.
The leadership and coaching group includes Coach Ashley, who coaches the WCU 2016 Girls Blue team; Director of Soccer Operations and Coach Tudor; Coach JP Dias, who coaches the WCU 14B Red team; Coach Kalani Takamura, who coaches in the Development Academy; Club Administrator and Development Academy Assistant Coach Sophie Aung; Coach Mia Isaac; and Coach Mario Quevedo. Sophie, Coach Mia, and Coach Mario each hold a USSF Grassroots license and are working on the USSF D license. The organization lists sponsors and community partners including Washington Spirit, DC United, Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company, Executive Office of the Mayor of DC, Scotty Bodywork Massage, The St. James, ZomTum: Laos Thai Bistro, Betsy Brandon, Emily Stern, and WCU coaches Jon, Ossie, Tudor, Amanda, Sophie, and Mario, and notes that a coaching education course was hosted by Global Soccer Development and DC Soccer Club.
