About
Washington Capital United offers a Development Academy, a Competitive Club Program, a Premier Academy program, Winter Futsal, Spring Break Camps, Summer Camps, and clinics. The program includes both boys and girls in its Competitive Club Program, which provides elite training and competition. The Premier Academy program offers high-quality training and meaningful competition to prepare athletes for the next level.

Washington Capital United is a nonprofit soccer organization dedicated to developing players and serves the Greater Washington Metropolitan area. Its mission is to foster physical, mental, and emotional growth in youth through high-quality coaching and a passion for the game, with a focus on building skilled athletes, strong teams, and confident individuals both on and off the field. The Development Academy is offered for ages 4–8, and competitive programming is offered for ages 8–17.
The leadership team includes Sophie Aung (Club Administrator and Development Academy Assistant Coach), Tudor Stanciu (Director of Soccer Operations of Washington Capital United), Greg Andrulis (Executive Director of DC Soccer Club), and Edu de Souza (Technical Director for DC Soccer Club). Staff credentials include USSF Grassroots licenses held by coaches Sophie Aung, Mia Isaac, and Mario Quevedo, with each working on the USSF D license. Washington Capital United’s 2014 Boys Blue team were Annapolis Cup Champions in 2024.
Washington Capital United is a nonprofit soccer organization and has a formal partnership with DC Soccer Club for the 2024–2025 season. This partnership allows the clubs to work closely together to develop and retain top players within the Washington, DC soccer community and aims to raise the level of club soccer in Washington, DC and make teams more competitive. The partnership is described as mutually beneficial to both clubs and is intended to ensure stability in roster viability and potential growth opportunities with a proven pathway for top talented players. Working together on this project allows Washington Capital United to maintain a relationship with players they have developed at younger stages who wish to play at a higher level, and allows both clubs to promote a true pathway toward a higher-level league to current and potential new players in the DC area. The partnership includes an opportunity for players from both clubs to compete at the ECNLR level with a true pathway to bigger and better experiences in the future and aims to reduce socio-economic hurdles while offering the highest level of instruction and mentorship possible.
