The YMCA of Collier County has been serving Collier County since 1967, with the North Campus created in 1967 and the South Campus founded on November 14, 1977 as a branch of the Collier County YMCA. The South Campus has been committed to helping children, families, and communities reach their full potential for 40 years, and the organization has been serving Collier County for more than 50 years. Its mission statement is “Putting Judeo-Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind and body for all,” and its CEO and President is Cindy Love-Abounader. The YMCA of Collier County is a nonprofit organization that works with volunteers, supporters, and both public and private donors, offers financial assistance scholarships for membership and programs based on demonstrated need and available funds, and provides services to tens of thousands of individuals through its YMCA family centers. The organization states that Y programs are designed to enable youth to realize their potential, offer families ways to have fun together, and empower people to be healthier in spirit, mind, and body.
