Sailor Circus Academy is part of The Circus Arts Conservatory, which has been nurturing young talent through this youth circus training program for over 76 years. Sailor Circus is described as the nation’s longest-operating and largest youth circus training program. The Circus Arts Conservatory also presents annual world-class performances in the one-ring, five-star, European-style Ulla Searing Big Top.

The Circus Arts Conservatory’s mission is to engage and educate students using unique and innovative learning programs; to measurably improve the quality of life for individuals in care communities; and to advance the extraordinary legacy and heritage of the circus. The organization is described as a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Performing Arts Educational Organization. It is also described as Sarasota’s premier destination for spectacular performances, world-class circus training, and unforgettable circus experiences, and as the cornerstone of Sarasota circus culture, nurturing young talent through the Sailor Circus Academy for over 76 years.
The Circus Arts Conservatory provides year-round outreach programs in the community. Approximately 80% of ticket revenue supports community outreach programs serving children through the Education Program, the elderly and those in care facilities through the Humor Therapy Program, and the Sailor Circus Academy. Sarasota’s residents are described as proud and supportive of The Circus Arts Conservatory for being committed to preserving Sarasota’s heritage of circus arts through dedication to perform, train, educate, and to engage the community in their mission.
The leadership team connected with this program includes Jennifer Mitchell, CEO & President of The Circus Arts Conservatory; SaSa Armor, Box Office and Group Sales Manager; and Kelly Fairchild, Guest Speaker. The Circus Arts Conservatory, Inc. was incorporated on September 30, 1997, as The National Circus School of Performing Arts, later changed its name to Circus Sarasota, Inc., and then to The Circus Arts Conservatory in 2013.
