The ministry of North Georgia Christian Camp began in 1966, and in 1971, Lora Kiss donated 43 acres to be used as a permanent Christian camp facility, with camp buildings completed in late summer 1972 and the first camp season on the new campground held that August. North Georgia Christian Camp states that it has been committed to providing a quality Christian camp in a loving, caring, and safe environment for over 50 years and that it exists to show and tell youth about Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, to be an extension of the local church for all ages to learn, grow in the Lord, and be challenged to serve Him, and to provide a place where people of all ages and backgrounds can be challenged to grow in their faith of Jesus and realize their need for Him in their lives. The camp is a non-profit camp owned and supported by 29 non-denominational Christian churches ranging from south Georgia to North Carolina, with these churches donating time, talents, and money, and it is also supported by donations from individuals and families. The leadership team includes Jared and Brooklynn Cox as Camp Director and Camp Cook, Seth and Lauren Banks as Director of Facilities and Administrative Coordinator, and Jeffery Neese as Facilities Manager.
