George Walton Academy Youth Programs include academic programs, arts programs, athletic programs, international travel programs, and a youth sports program. The youth sports program has 350 participants, and 65 students participated in international exchange and travel last year. Students take part in 18 on-campus performances each year in band, drama, piano, chorus, and dance.
• Schedule: Open daily during the school year from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., excluding school holidays and breaks; summer hours are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the program is closed during the week of July 4.
Founded in 1969, George Walton Academy welcomed 132 students in first through eighth grade in its first year and now has more than 760 students enrolled. The school offers 22 AP courses and has an 8:1 overall student-to-teacher ratio, with students coming from 14 surrounding counties. George Walton Academy reports a 100% college acceptance rate and more than $5.7 million in college scholarships earned by the Class of 2025. The campus covers more than 60 acres and includes 41 middle and high school teams across 27 interscholastic sports. The mission of George Walton Academy is to challenge students to excel in academics, athletics and the arts and to build character, leadership and curiosity. The school describes itself as the oldest and most established private school in Walton County, with a welcoming and inclusive community where students feel safe to explore their interests and talents, and promotes a “Made For More” dynamic, future-focused K3–12 education.
