Barrington Dance Academy

Barrington Dance Academy offers dance classes in Creative Movement, Pre-Ballet, Ballet, Pointe, Character Dance, Jazz Dance, and Modern, including combined Creative Movement & Pre Ballet classes. The program also includes character class, jazz dance class, and ballet study based on the Royal Academy of Dance, as well as ballet, pointe, and jazz classes for more experienced dancers. Adult Classes are also available.

Barrington Dance Academy, established in 1984, is described as the area’s finest school of dance and a standard bearer for the arts, where meticulous care is taken with each student. The program is taught by professional instructors and professional faculty in a supportive setting, and classes are taught by caring professional instructors. The mission of Barrington Dance Academy states that it is dedicated to teaching the art of dance in a fun, creative atmosphere, with a primary goal of developing each student’s individual creative potential and technical proficiency, and providing an environment in which anyone from the recreational student to the most serious student can grow in the art of dance, with the hope that students will become lifelong supporters of the arts through exposure to dance.

The Barrington Dance Academy offers a unique opportunity for students ages 3 to adult to study a variety of dance forms taught by professional faculty in a supportive setting. It is well-known for its ballet program and also offers a full range of jazz dance classes for students age 6 and up. The program offers fun, age-appropriate themed classes for Creative Movement & Pre Ballet dancers, age 3–7, and these levels include a low-stress in-studio recital performance at the end of each term. For the Juniors division, age 7–11, the academy offers ballet study based on the Royal Academy of Dance, character class, and jazz dance class, and for Intermediate & Advanced dancers, age 11 and up, it offers ballet, pointe, and jazz classes. At every level, classes are taught by caring professional instructors who are committed to their students’ success and enjoyment.

Barrington Dance Academy is proud to provide dance classes for students from Chicago’s Northwest Suburbs, including Cary, Fox River Grove, Lake Zurich, Kildeer, Crystal Lake, Palatine, Deer Park, Hawthorn Woods, Hoffman Estates, Wauconda, Sleepy Hallow, Schaumburg, Inverness, and the Barrington area, and its students come from all over the Northwest Suburban area to receive dance instruction in a fun, supportive setting. All male dancers ages 6–18 are eligible for free tuition at Barrington Dance Academy through Barrington Dance Ensemble’s Rusty Hernandez Boys Scholarship. New students are invited to join a Complimentary Trial Class. BDE has announced that its production of Coppélia will return to the stage in June for the first time since 2017, featuring a performance with over 70 Barrington Dance Academy students.
