Barrington Dance Academy offers Creative Movement, Pre-Ballet, Ballet, Pointe, Character Dance, Jazz Dance, Modern, and Adult Classes. The program also includes Creative Movement & Pre Ballet, character class, and jazz classes for different levels of dancers.

Barrington Dance Academy, established in 1984, is described as the area’s finest school of dance. Students learn the art of dance from professional instructors in a supportive atmosphere, and classes are taught by caring professional instructors who are committed to their students’ success and enjoyment. The academy is well-known for its ballet program and offers a full range of jazz dance classes for students age 6 and up.
The program includes fun, age-appropriate themed classes for Creative Movement & Pre Ballet dancers age 3–7, with a low-stress in-studio recital performance at the end of each term for these levels. For Juniors, age 7–11, the academy offers ballet study based on the Royal Academy of Dance, character class, and jazz dance class. For Intermediate & Advanced dancers age 11 and up, the program offers ballet, pointe, and jazz classes. BDA is now enrolling, and new students can join for a Complimentary Trial Class, which is promoted as a way to experience the joy and magic of dance at Barrington Dance Academy.
The academy states that meticulous care is taken with each student, fostering the creative instincts of the preschool child and providing excellent dance education for older students. Its mission states that it is dedicated to teaching the art of dance in a fun, creative atmosphere, with a primary goal of developing each student’s individual creative potential and technical proficiency. The mission also states that it provides an environment in which anyone from the recreational student to the most serious student can grow in the art of dance, and that it is the academy’s hope that through exposure to dance, students will become lifelong supporters of the arts.
