Academy of Stars Child Care has been presenting childcare to Barrington and the surrounding area since 2003, with new ownership beginning in 2017. The program offers school-age summer camp and care for infants through age 12, with specific groups including an Infant Room for birth to 12 months, Explorers for ages 1–2, Pioneers for ages 2–3, Adventures for ages 3–4, Allstars Pre-K for ages 4–5, and a before and after school program up to age 12 with transportation from Roslyn, Countryside, North Barrington, and Algonquin Road School. The Academy of Stars utilizes Creative Curriculum and hires early childhood educators, and offers a hot lunch, afternoon reinforcement, snack, and creative activities.

The Academy of Stars is licensed with the State of Illinois and is structured to meet all of the State of Illinois Early Childhood Initiatives and National Learning Standards for Early Childhood, with standards designed to meet or exceed School District 220 and the Illinois State Standards. Assessments are done twice a year for each child to track individual growth and development, and parent conferences are conducted in the fall and in the spring if necessary. The program includes monthly visits to an elderly home.
