Gymnastics classes at Elmhurst Gymnastics incorporate aspects of physical fitness, motor development, hand-eye coordination, strength, and flexibility, and early childhood classes focus on spatial awareness, socialization, and gymnastics skills. Meteorites is split into two age groups: Meteorites I for ages 12–23 months and Meteorites II for ages 24–35 months. Intro to Gymnastics for 3-year-olds transitions children from having parents in class to being in class on their own, with parents in the class at the beginning of the session and slowly transitioning out. Asteroids for ages 3–4 uses traditional gymnastics equipment and obstacle courses to teach skills and develop coordination. Twinkle Stars for ages 4–6 focuses on proper gymnastics progressions for girls, and Lasers Boys for ages 4–6 includes swinging, climbing, jumping, and all six men’s Olympic events while developing basic skills and body positions.

Boys-specific gymnastics classes for ages 6–12 introduce all six men’s Olympic events: floor exercise, pommel horse, still rings, vault, parallel bars, and high bar, while girls’ gymnastics classes for ages 6–12 focus on skills on vault, bars, beam, and floor. Entrance into Boys Intermediate/Advanced and Girls Intermediate and Advanced classes is skills-based and requires instructor approval. Tumbling Basics for Cheer & Gymnastics for ages 6–12 focuses on rolls, handstands, and cartwheels, and Advanced Tumbling for Cheer & Gymnastics for ages 6–12 focuses on skills such as back handsprings and back tucks. Adult Gymnastics for ages 16 and up focuses on flexibility and strength while learning new skills and improving previous skills on all women’s and men’s gymnastics events. Summer Open Gym allows kids of all ages to explore the gymnastics center with staff on hand to ensure safety and proper usage of the facility and equipment, and no prior gymnastics experience is needed for the summer camps.

A progress report from each gymnast’s instructor is distributed during each session to guide future registration, and the gymnastics staff reserves the right to move students to the appropriate level if needed. Anyone not participating in a class is not allowed in the gym and must remain in the lobby area until class is completed, and participants must stay off the equipment and floor mat until their class time and until they are called by their instructor. Participants are not allowed to chew gum, and food or drink is not allowed in the gymnastics center. Proper attire is mandatory: girls must wear a gymnastics leotard or shorts and a t-shirt with no tights or jewelry, and boys must wear shorts or sweatpants and a t-shirt; bare feet are recommended, and clothing with buttons, zippers, or snaps is not allowed because it presents a safety hazard for participants and instructors. Make-ups for missed classes are not offered.

Elmhurst Gymnastics programs are offered by the Elmhurst Park District, which serves the community and hosts related programs and events such as Gymnastics Open Gym and Summer Camps. The Elmhurst Park District states that it takes safety very seriously and notes that, as with any active sport or recreation, injuries can take place. The mission statement for Elmhurst Gymnastics is “We enrich lives while having fun!” and leadership for dance, gymnastics, and theater programs includes Kelsi Grubisich as Program Staff Dance, Gymnastics and Theater.
