About
Naperville Christian Academy Preschool includes Montessori-style activities, hands-on manipulatives, learning centers with rotating activities, and a sensorial area that uses concrete objects and all the senses. Children listen to Bible stories and other stories, sing, converse with others, and spend time memorizing scripture, poetry, and nursery rhymes. Weekly activities include library time, music time, art time, and may also include field trips and guest speakers, along with lunch, extended outdoor recess, and a nap or rest time.
• Ages: 3–6 years old
• Schedule: Families can choose a three-day option on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday or a five-day option, with half-day classes from 8:20 am to 12:00 pm and full-day classes ending at 3:15 pm; after school care is available until 5:00 pm.
Naperville Christian Academy Preschool is part of Naperville Christian Academy, a board-governed Christian classical school in the liberal arts tradition that serves students in three sub-schools: Grammar (PS–5th), Logic (6th–8th), and Rhetoric (9th–12th). The preschool classroom is divided into areas that focus on math, science, language, and literacy, and includes an emphasis on taking care of the classroom and resources. Academic subjects such as math, science, history, and geography are introduced through tactile manipulatives, hands-on activities, and traceable sandpaper letters that connect sounds to symbols, with each exercise having a specific learning objective. The program has a target class size of 16 students per class and an average student-to-teacher ratio of 8:1, and all children must be three years old and potty-trained to apply, with no placement test required for preschool admissions. Founded in 2000, Naperville Christian Academy describes itself as a caring PS–12 community of learning that celebrates strong ethnic, geographic, economic, and denominational diversity unified by a shared devotion to Jesus Christ, and serves families from DuPage, Will, Kane, Cook, and Kendall Counties, with carpools available.
