About
Naperville Park District Dance Academy offers dance classes in Ballet, Hip Hop, Modern, Jazz, and Tap, along with seasonal programs and recital track programs. • Ages: 3–18 years old
• Schedule: Seasonal programs typically are held once a week for several weeks, and recital track programs begin in the fall and run for nine months.
The mission of the Naperville Park District Dance Academy is to provide quality dance training to interested students of all ages – youth through adult. Programs are carefully constructed to provide effective learning environments that are fun and professional, technical and creative. Seasonal program participants do not perform in the annual spring dance recital, but parents are able to observe their student's progress at the last class of the session, while recital track participants perform in the annual spring recital and receive a dance costume for the recital. Élan Dance Company provides a foundation in dance performance and essential experience participating in a dance company, offers competitive and performance-only teams, and will participate in several performances throughout the year. Specific dance attire is required in order to participate in the classes, and there are requirements for hair, make-up, shoes, and tights for each class listed in a document, which also lists the music for each child’s class; make-up is optional.
