Montessori Children’s House of North Barrington

Montessori Children’s House of North Barrington offers children experiences such as learning about nature, exploring music, developing dexterity and coordination through physical activity, and exercising creativity through experiences in art. The program includes an authentic Montessori classroom where children are exposed to the most current and progressive teaching methods in a mixed-age group setting.

Built in 1970, Montessori Children’s House of North Barrington has a unique design to serve the needs of today’s children on a park-like 3-acre campus nestled among the rolling hills of the northwest suburbs. The mission of MCHNB states that its experienced and dedicated staff helps the child develop an awareness of himself and the world around him. The school serves as a lab school of the Seton Montessori Institute, one of the largest Montessori teacher education programs in North America. It is fully accredited by the American Montessori Society, accredited by the American Camp Association for its summer camp, a member school of the Association of Illinois Montessori Schools, and accredited by the National Council for Private School Accreditation. The campus is certified as a bird friendly habitat and wildlife habitat by the National Wildlife Federation, and MCHNB is affiliated with Montessori Education Centers Associated.
