• Ages: 2–17 years old
• Price: $10 Trial Class
Ultimate Dance On the Move has been serving dancers in the West Suburbs of Chicago since June 2013, opened a pop-up dance studio in downtown Plano in September 2016 that expanded to a permanent full running studio in January 2017, and opened a pop-up Naperville dance studio in 2019. The program includes a mobile dance option held at children’s daycare centers, where students take class in the clothes they wear to school and are not required to wear specific dance clothing, and photos or videos are posted weekly in a class-specific album on an app that is viewable only by other students in the class. Mobile students perform with their center at a Winter showcase and an End of the Year recital with other daycare and studio classes, unless otherwise noted.
Summer camps have no annual registration fee, and campers are asked to bring a water bottle and a nut-free snack. The Ultimate Dance Competition Team is described as featuring many performance opportunities, fun, high level training and no competitive atmosphere, and a testimonial notes that all of the competition teams last year brought home Regional Champs. The program states a Happiness Guarantee so families can feel confident with registration and children can experience the Ultimate Dance Experience worry free, and it states a 100% guarantee that each child will feel confident on stage. The recital is described as under an hour in length and created to accommodate younger children and busy families, and the program states that it inclusively serves kids of all ages and all levels.
The leadership team includes CEO and Founder Cheyanne Diaz, who is also a Director/Instructor, along with Office Administrator Miss Madi and instructors Miss Lexi, Miss Felicia, Miss McKenzie, Miss Jennifer, and Miss Morgan. Staff experience includes backgrounds in gymnastics and cheerleading; over 18 years of dance training; competitive and collegiate dance; Bachelor’s degrees in fields such as Dance Performance, Dance with a minor in Psychology, Molecular Neuroscience, Nutrition and Dietetics, and instrumental performance; a Pilates certification; and experience teaching ballet, hip hop, jazz, tumbling, and other styles to children as young as 2 years old. The mission statement for Ultimate Dance On the Move is: “We build kids’ confidence. No matter their background, experience, or level of confidence at their first class, every child that joins us at Ultimate Dance on the Move leaves a more confident child and certainly a better dancer. Our mission is inspiring the you through dance.”
Parent testimonials describe the staff as flexible during remote classes, like a family, caring, and goal oriented, and mention offerings such as online family dance parties and story time, outdoor Summer Recital, and daycare-based recitals where children perform with classmates they see daily. Testimonials also mention increased confidence, enjoyment of recitals, and competition teams bringing home Regional Champs.
