Ultimate Dance On the Move has been serving dancers in the West Suburbs of Chicago since June 2013, opened a pop-up dance studio in downtown Plano in September 2016 that expanded to a full running studio in January 2017, and opened a pop-up Naperville dance studio in 2019. The leadership team includes CEO and Founder Cheyanne Diaz (Director/Instructor), Miss Madi (Office Administrator), and instructors Miss Lexi, Miss Felicia, Miss McKenzie, Miss Jennifer, and Miss Morgan. Staff experience includes backgrounds in gymnastics and cheerleading, multiple dance styles such as ballet, lyrical, modern, jazz, musical theater, tap, and hip hop, collegiate and competitive dance, Pilates certification, and degrees in fields including Dance Performance, Dance, Molecular Neuroscience, Nutrition and Dietetics, Instrumental Performance, and related studies. The stated mission is to be a very goal and achievement oriented dance studio that focuses on inspiring and motivating kids to be their best, building kids’ confidence, and inspiring the youth through dance, with a statement that every child who joins leaves more confident and a better dancer.
Ultimate Dance On the Move offers mobile programs to daycares and schools in the West Suburbs of Chicago area, with mobile classes held at children’s daycare centers. Mobile students take dance class in the clothes they wear to school and are not required to have specific dance clothing, and mobile students perform with their center at the Winter showcase and End of the Year recital with other daycare and studio classes unless otherwise noted. Campers are asked to bring a water bottle and a nut-free snack to camp. The program notes several features, including a Happiness Guarantee (also written as Happiness Guarentee) so families can feel confident with registration, no annual registration fee for summer camps, a recital that does not require an extra day for dress rehearsal, a recital length under an hour, a recital created to accommodate younger children and busy families, a 100% guarantee that each child will feel confident on stage, and inclusively serving kids of all ages and all levels. It is stated that all competition teams in the previous year brought home Regional Champs.
Parent testimonials describe flexibility in switching to remote dance classes while preparing for the outdoor Summer Recital, children enjoying and learning in classes, Ultimate Dance being “like a family,” increased confidence and movement, and competition teams bringing home Regional Champs. Other testimonials mention teachers being caring, online activities such as family dance parties and story time during shutdowns, a positive and goal-oriented atmosphere, and children’s confidence increasing “through the roof” in a few months. Parents also describe staff adapting during quarantine so dancers could continue dance and maintain a sense of normal and comfort, and one parent shares that a child especially enjoyed doing a recital alongside classmates from daycare, being on stage with friends, hearing people clap, and getting to wear mascara.
