Go Ape states that it is the industry leader in high-ropes and ziplining safety and in safe outdoor high-ropes and ziplining experiences. Unique features include the Treetop Temp nature-based way to measure how it feels in forest adventure parks, flexible self-paced aerial adventures, iconic Tarzan swings, a jungle gym in the treetops for all ages, private Forest EscAPE sessions, and birthday party packages with an on-site party host, support, and 20% off all activities and merchandise for birthday party packages. The adventure park is set in natural environments in local parks rather than parking lots or indoor facilities, and Go Ape operates in most weather conditions. An online booking system allows participants to book, sign waivers, and pay, and Go Ape can accommodate large groups and special events such as bachelor and bachelorette parties, team-building activities, field trips, scout troop outings, and family reunions.

Since 2010, Go Ape has believed in creating spaces where people of all ages and abilities can escape the ordinary, and the first Go Ape USA course opened in Rockville, Maryland in 2010. The mission of Go Ape is to inspire courage, connection, and discovery through thrilling outdoor experiences and to bring people closer to each other, nature, and their own potential. Community involvement includes sharing a percentage of each ticket sale with the local community and park, partnering with parks through revenue shares and non-profit ticket donations, and taking part in stewardship projects such as trail maintenance, invasive species removal, tree planting, litter clean-ups, and native wildlife preservation practices.

Equipment guidelines include gloves required for Treetop Adventure and Treetop Journey (available for purchase), an empty pockets policy for Treetop Adventure, Treetop Journey, and Treetop Nets, and fully enclosed shoes required for Treetop Adventure, Treetop Journey, Treetop Nets, and Axe Throwing. Phones are permitted if securely attached, and phone holders and gloves are available for purchase. Families are advised to plan for the weather, wear light-colored, loose-fitting, moisture-wicking clothing and sunscreen in high temperatures, and wear layers in cool weather. Participants are advised to eat a protein-rich meal and stay hydrated the day before and the day of the reservation; water is available throughout the adventure and additional drinks such as sports drinks are available for purchase. It is not recommended to bring items that can fall into the forest, such as hats and sunglasses; belongings should be left at home or in the car, and staff can hold car keys. Families are advised to bring athletic gloves (or purchase them on site), sunscreen, bug spray, and any necessary medical items such as epipens.

Parent testimonials from other Go Ape locations describe staff walking a participant through the experience when she was afraid of heights, families getting a mental and physical workout that worked for both kids and adults, and the ability to book, sign waivers, and pay through the Go Ape website before arriving.
