About

CTWS Summer Camps offers theatre-focused sessions where campers play improv games, write their own scenes, participate in musical improv, learn songs and dances together, play theatre games, and learn and perform a play. Every camper is cast in the show, is given their role on day 2, and performs in several numbers and/or scenes in the final performance, which is an entire show learned in two weeks. Campers are grouped roughly by age, and songs and scenes are assigned based on age and skill level.

• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Schedule: Two-week Oliver! JR sessions, a two-week Singin' in the Rain JR session, a three-week Rodgers and Hammerstein's Oklahoma! session, one-week Improv Camp, one-week Warmup Camp: Theatre Adventure!, and a two-week Acting Camp
• Price: Oliver! JR: $495; Singin' in the Rain JR: $495; Rodgers and Hammerstein's Oklahoma!: $595; Improv Camp: $275; Warmup Camp: Theatre Adventure!: $250; Acting Camp: $395

CTWS Summer Camps includes fun theme days, optional theme-day participation, and a free t-shirt for each camper. Each camper receives 4 tickets to the final performance. Summer Camp 2026 registration opens January 7 at 12pm, and families can join a waitlist if a camp is sold out. Camps are staffed by qualified theatre teachers and student interns, and every adult staff member completes an application, interview, and background check process. Teachers have years of training and higher-level education in the arts or education, experience working with children, personal performing credits, and experience with theatrical productions. The organization notes it is celebrating over 93 years of West Suburban Chicago theatre and invites families to join its 97th season.

Campers are asked to bring a closed-top water bottle filled from home, comfortable clothes, gym shoes or other close-toed shoes (no flip-flops), and a nut-free snack. Cell phones are not permitted during camp and must remain in the camper's bag. For the show, campers wear their camp t-shirt, black pants or leggings, tied shoes, and basic makeup including foundation, blush, lipstick, and eyeliner. Emergency medication such as an epi-pen may be left with camp staff in a labeled zip-lock bag. Each camper is given a unique identification card that must be shown at pick-up, and parents or caregivers who are more than 10 minutes late to pick up may be charged a financial penalty. There is no nurse on staff, but teachers are trained in basic First Aid and CPR.
