About

IU Outdoor Pool Youth Group Swim Lessons offers youth group swim lessons, Swim Team Prep, Parent/Toddler group swim, and learn to swim programs. The program also offers water fitness, private and semi-private lessons, adult group sessions, and an Adult Swim Team. The Outdoor Pool lesson program is organized into levels based on current proficiency, and the first 15 minutes of the first session are used for a skills assessment.

• Ages: 6 months–16 years old
• Schedule: Youth Group Swim and Swim Team Prep meet Monday–Thursday in two-week sessions with four 45-minute lessons per week, and Parent/Toddler group swim meets Monday–Thursday in two-week sessions with four 30-minute lessons per week; lessons canceled due to weather are made up on Fridays when possible.
• Price: Levels 1–4 (ages 3–12) and Swim Team Prep (ages 7–16) cost $112 per session with $10 off for the 9:15 a.m., 10:15 a.m., and 11:15 a.m. sessions, and Parent/Toddler (ages 6 months–3 years) costs $79 per session.

Levels 1–4 (ages 3–12) and Swim Team Prep (ages 7–16) run June 1–12, June 15–26, July 6–17, and July 20–31, with lesson times at 9:15 a.m., 10:15 a.m., 11:15 a.m., 6:15 p.m., and 7:15 p.m., and there will not be a 9:15 a.m. session for Swim Team Prep this summer. Parent/Toddler group swim (ages 6 months–3 years) runs June 1–12, June 15–26, July 6–17, and July 20–31, with lesson times at 10:15 a.m., 11:15 a.m., 6:15 p.m., and 7:15 p.m. Swim Team Prep is for those who have successfully completed Youth Level 4 and is a precursor to a formal swim team. Lessons canceled due to weather will be made up on Fridays, and if more than two sessions are canceled due to weather, makeup and refunds are not possible. Pool membership is not required to enroll in sessions. All swimming instructional sessions follow the American Red Cross format. Registration opens Monday, May 4 at 8 a.m., and families can register in person at the pool or online using the provided link.

The program states that learning how to be safe in and around water is a skill that lasts a lifetime. All Indiana University events, groups, activities, and educational, cultural, and historical observances welcome all IU students and other members of the Indiana University community.
