Columbus Indiana Children’s Choir (CICC) – Preschool & Early Childhood Programs includes Music At Play (MAP), an early childhood program, along with other Early Childhood classes. Children in the broader CICC program take part in choir rehearsals, local performances, and tours.
• Ages: 3–5 years old
• Schedule: Each choir rehearses once a week and performs locally three or four times each semester.
• Price: The cost for the 2026-2027 Season is $610 for the year (plus a $60, non-refundable registration fee). Early Bird discounts are available: $20 off until May 31, 2026; $15 off until June 30, 2026; $10 off until July 31, 2026. Prorated fees are available for spring semester only registration. Financial assistance is available.
The Columbus Indiana Children’s Choir (CICC) is a cooperative effort between the Columbus Indiana Philharmonic and the Indianapolis Children’s Choir and offers musical experiences to students in preschool through grade 9, serving Columbus and surrounding areas. Music At Play, the early childhood program, offers children 18 months of age through kindergarten a beginning musical foundation. The CICC is an auditioned group of children from grades 3 through 8 in Bartholomew County and surrounding counties, with two choirs: the Concert Choir for more advanced singers and the Descant Choir for beginning members. Advanced singers in the program are offered tour opportunities, and past tours have included Carnegie Hall in New York City, Washington DC, a Western National Parks Tour, Ireland, Canada, and central Europe.
The Indianapolis Children’s Choir, which partners in CICC, was founded in 1986 by Henry Leck and is under the leadership of Executive Artistic Director Joshua Pedde. Its mission statement is that the Indianapolis Children’s Choir transforms lives through powerful choral experiences and music education, empowering young voices to grow, connect, and lead on stage and in the community.
