About

Holliday Park Environmental Education & Day Camp Programs include time to play on one of the city’s best, hard-to-leave playgrounds and explore more than 3.5 miles of picturesque trails. Participants can take a stroll around the Holliday Park Ruins and join field trip programs, scout programs, and eco tours. The program also takes place alongside other park activities such as trail runs, Rock the Ruins, and The Ice Rink.

• Schedule: The park is open dawn to dusk seven days a week, and the Nature Center is open Mondays through Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

The Holliday Park story began during the 1916 centennial celebration of Indiana statehood when John and Evaline Holliday donated their country estate to the City of Indianapolis. John and Evaline Holliday expressed the belief that “the land is singularly suited to be a place for recreation and the study of nature.” Professional education staff offer a wide variety of programs, and the park includes over 400 species of trees, shrubs, and wildflowers, with more than 200 bird species spotted there. The playground area features a recently completed nature-inspired renovation project and an inclusive, engaging, versatile, and vibrant playground commons. Park staff include Park Manager Allie Combs, Assistant Park Manager Darcy Sapp, and Naturalists Delaney Smith and Frank Brown. Holliday Park Foundation staff include Executive Director Adam Barnes, Marketing and Development Director Ben Moses, and Event and Communications Coordinator Beth Carper. Holliday Park Foundation is committed to preserving, enhancing, and maintaining Holliday Park as one of the premiere public parks in Indianapolis.
