About
KidStrong is a science-based kids training program where kids take part in fun activities that promote balance, coordination, strength, and agility. Classes include puzzles, games, and mental challenges, along with science-based fitness games in a 45-minute structured program carefully designed to support whole-child development. Classes are developmentally appropriate, fun, and challenging, and games are designed to improve creativity, mental development, problem solving skills, teamwork, mental toughness, and sportsmanship.
• Ages: walking to 11 years old
• Schedule: Each week, kids join a 45-minute class
KidStrong is guided by a group of experts, child development scientists, and coaches, and all coaches are certified, professional, specially trained, and described as compassionate leaders who create a safe, supportive environment. The program is parent-focused, with parents brought right into the action, and classes are reserved for KidStrong members only. KidStrong offers Camps and KidStrong Academy at select centers, including KidStrong Camp where kids gain lifelong friendships, learn new skills, build confidence, and create unforgettable memories, as well as KidStrong Camps that run in addition to regular classes. KidStrong offers Camps and serves more than 65,000 kids per week across more than 160 locations, and KidStrong celebrated its 100th center opening with franchisee Barb Volk in Plantation, Florida. KidStrong was founded in 2015 by Matt and Megin Sharp in Lexington, Kentucky, and they partnered with Lincoln Brown to turn the idea into a scalable business, with leadership and guidance from experts including Patti Eubanks (Preschool & Kindergarten Director), Patrick Ford (Doctor of Physical Therapy), and Dr. Julie Foucher (MD, Family Physician, 4x CrossFit Games Competitor).
KidStrong describes its mission as a science-based kids training program that builds strong, confident, high-character kids, with programming specially designed by child development experts to improve kids’ emotional, mental, and physical skills. The program states that everything is based on the Whole Child Philosophy and focuses on three pillars: Strong Character, Strong Body, Strong Mind, and that focusing on the whole child gives kids the foundation they need to become well-rounded, confident kids. KidStrong does not provide medical services, does not accept insurance, and states that it cannot guarantee that a child will learn how to fly. KidStrong also notes a proven business model that has generated success for franchisees in markets across the US and Canada.
Parents have shared testimonials about their experiences with KidStrong. One parent, Summer from Rocklin, CA, says, “It’s incredible. Our daughter goes once a week, and we’ve seen her confidence skyrocket. We are truly grateful for KidStrong!” Jessica from Noblesville, Indiana, says that when her son first started attending KidStrong, he was “super shy and anxious,” and that she recommends and “downright BRAG[s]” about the program to friends and family. Ella from San Antonio, Texas, shares that her child has a speech delay and that communication was difficult, and that after joining KidStrong, the environment motivated her child, who is now putting effort into learning “not just words but cooking, cleaning, you name it.”
