IDEAS Summer Camps is celebrating its 11th season and the company behind the camp has been delivering creative summer camps nationwide for over 23 years to more than 100,000 students. The overall mission is to enrich the lives of children and pre-teens by simultaneously fostering fun and building character. The camp is structured as a traditional day camp for grades Pre-K to 2 and an art, science, and technology-based program for grades 3–8, with weekly enrollment limited per age group and per week to maintain a safe and intimate camp environment.

IDEAS Summer Camps includes extended care and snack at no additional charge, with extended care described as a $250 value, and also offers a free extended care option and curbside service. New weekly themes, technology immersion, project-based and collaborative learning, and a Family Orientation in early June with camp directors and instructors present are part of the program structure.

The staff at IDEAS Summer Camps is adult-led, with an average camper-to-counselor ratio of 6:1, and includes professionals already working in education or individuals in college or postgraduate programs on track to work in education. All team members undergo extensive training and full background checks, including mandatory State and Federal criminal background checks such as CORI, SORI, FBI fingerprints, and a series of in-depth interviews with the Director of Talent and Hiring. Each instructor receives up to 20+ hours of online, webinar, and on-location training before the first day of camp, and the program also describes a 30+ hour pre-camp training program and a 360° background check.

Parent and staff testimonials describe campers returning week after week for new themes, enjoying the combination of traditional and STEM activities, and spending time outside with screen breaks. Families highlight daily instructional Water Play as a major feature, mention that extended care at no extra cost fits their schedules, and note that campers are learning to race drones and program robots. Instructors describe the curriculum as unique, note that they use it in their own classrooms, and report that the training and support improved their ability to teach technology in a classroom setting. IDEAS Summer Camps has been voted Best Camp in Annapolis, MD at Saint Anne’s School of Annapolis three times and is described as the #1 Summer Camp in Annapolis, MD.
