About

Environmental Education Programs connects students, teachers, and school leaders to the Chesapeake Bay watershed through hands-on field experiences, leadership training, and classroom support. The program takes place at working education centers where education staff spend most of their time out in the field or in other educational settings rather than in an office. These programs are part of CBF’s award-winning education efforts focused on the Chesapeake Bay and its waterways.

The Environmental Education Programs are led by Ashley Sementelli. For more than 50 years, CBF’s award-winning education programs have connected students, teachers, and school leaders to the Chesapeake Bay watershed. The mission of these programs is saving the Chesapeake Bay and its waterways by educating, uniting, and inspiring people to take action. CBF also performs hands-on restoration work with community partners across the watershed to reduce pollution at its source and rebuild the Bay’s natural filters, including oyster reefs, forests, soil, and wetlands.
