The organization provides team development and guided adventures for scout troops, school groups, summer camps, families, individuals, corporate groups, government agencies, not-for-profit organizations, university cohorts, and sports teams, and customizes team building or adventure instruction programs to suit client goals and budget. Programs for adult and youth groups can be recreational or goals-driven, and Portable Team Building brings problem-solving, trust, and communication exercises to client facilities or nearby parks or conference rooms.
In 1992, Eriq Powers began guiding and facilitating adventure and teamwork with groups, and as a student in the Adventure Sports Institute, he saw the value of experiential education as a tool for building trust and cohesion between members of a group. After college, he worked for challenge course providers and adventure guide services before starting GO-Adventures in 2003, and since then he has been honing his skills as a guide and facilitator and now provides training and support to other guides and facilitators in the DC metro area. Eriq Powers is the founder of GO-Adventures, which has been providing team building and adventure instruction for youth and adults in Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia since 2003.
