About

YMCA Silver Spring Youth Programs include activities such as pickleball, swimming, soccer, tennis, Tae kwon do, T Ball, basketball, track, All Sports, and swim team. Children can also take part in games, classic camp games, homework support, STEM programs, arts and crafts, swim lessons, swim stroke coaching, and water aerobic and strength classes. Members have access to childcare through Child Watch, which allows them to drop off their child for up to two hours.

• Ages: 0–17 years old
• Schedule: Child Watch is available Monday to Friday from 4–8 p.m.; school-age before and after care runs Monday to Friday from 7–9 a.m. and 3–6 p.m.; the Early Learning Center for children 18 months to 5 years old operates from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
• Price: For less than $100 per month, a gym membership at YMCA Silver Spring provides access to advanced fitness equipment and group exercise classes.

Child Watch staff are trained and certified, school-age childcare programs are staffed by trained and certified childcare professionals, and Early Learning Center staff are certified and trained. Members get access to childcare while they work out, as well as discounts for Early Learning, Before and Aftercare, and Summer Camp programs, and summer camp registrants must have either a community or family membership, each offering different rates and discount opportunities. Financial assistance is available to help ensure everyone has access to high-quality childcare. Youth Sports are anchored in core values of respect, responsibility, care, and honesty. Water aerobic and strength classes are designed to build muscle, stamina, and cardio fitness while minimizing impact and injury for all ages and abilities.

Joining YMCA Silver Spring is described as more than a gym membership, and the Y is a cause-driven nonprofit working to strengthen the community and help everyone build a healthy body, mind, and spirit. As a member of the Y, families support work in the community to strengthen families, empower youth, and support inclusive communities, and gym membership helps provide community health and wellness services and programs to under-resourced neighbors.
