About
Ann Arbor Figure Skating Club Programs include Learn to Skate classes, group classes, synchronized skating, Learn to Skate Synchro, and ice and test sessions. Skaters can also take part in competitions, Public Skate events, social events and celebrations, and use services such as locker rentals and skate sharpening.
• Ages: 3–18 years old
• Schedule: Summer Learn to Skate and Summer Ice begin June 15th, with ice sessions offered 6 days a week
• Price: The rental price for a locker is $50 per year.
The Ann Arbor Figure Skating Club states that its mission is to serve the skating community and beyond by providing state of the art programs, education, and opportunities for skater excellence in a safe, supportive and fun environment. The club offers Hockettes synchronized skating opportunities for skaters of all ages and skill levels, and a Learn to Skate Synchro team where skaters learn basics of synchronized skating, make new friends, build confidence and teamwork skills, and perform in Ann Arbor ice shows. Locker rentals follow a contract procedure that requires purchasing a combination lock, and keyed locks are not permitted; skaters under the age of 10 are assigned a bottom locker, and adult skaters are assigned a locker on the far left side of the locker room.
The Junior Board Committee is open to skaters in grades 9–12, with information tables available Tuesday, September 24 from 2:15pm–3:30pm and 4:00pm–5:30pm, and Thursday, September 26 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm; the deadline to apply to be on the Junior Board is Wednesday, October 2, 2024. The Junior Board is described as an opportunity for high school-age skaters to contribute to the Ann Arbor Figure Skating Club while gaining leadership and organizational skills, with a mission that focuses on building community, supporting the club, mentoring and encouraging skaters, and developing leadership skills. The Junior Hockettes were honored to represent Team USA at the 2025 Budapest Cup International Competition, where they won the gold medal and were named international champions.
