Michigan Academy of Gymnastics Day Camps is part of a program with over 30 years of training gymnasts. The leadership team includes owners and competitive coaches Leon Bekker and Kami Gotcheva, along with Barb, who is the general manager and a recreational coach. The program’s mission statement says that it exists to make a positive difference in the lives of its students, with a goal of developing happy, healthy, and confident children, and that it views gymnastics training as the best way to support children’s physical and emotional well-being while striving for excitement, quality, and innovation in every program. The organization also hosts the Area 23 Special Olympics Gymnastics Team.
The MAG Pro Shop offers a large selection of apparel including leotards, T-shirts, and hoodies, and it supplies grips, tape, pre-wrap, and wristbands for more advanced gymnasts. One parent review from Ari S. on Google states that a 5-year-old daughter loved her second year at MAG, became stronger in one year, and that a birthday party at MAG was fun for children with and without gymnastics backgrounds. Another Google review from Camille D. says that starting in October of the previous year was fun, and mentions attending a competition to cheer on the team and expressing appreciation for MAG and the coaches. A review from Becky on Google says that her daughter has taken gymnastics classes there for two years, has loved every coach she has had, and looks forward to going every week.
